This year 2021 saw the 10 year anniversary of Open Studios Notts, with lots of changes in the world due to current virus; this year saw a mix of actual events and virtual events. Including exhibition in three of the inspire culture libraries .

You can also join in at home! with ‘Crafty Birthday Cake’ competition to celebrate their 10th Anniversary year!

Since you can never have enough cake, especially for a birthday celebration, the team at Open Studios Notts is inviting everyone, young and old, to get creative and make a special cake to share on social media in a virtual celebratory party.

Here’s a summary explaining how to take part, please visit the Open Studios Notts website for full information.

  • Make your cake in any way you like – draw, paint, sculpt, bake, knit, sew, collage, play music, write or dance – anything goes!
  • Then photograph or video your creation and post it on social media using #osnottscake
  • Include your name and category in the description on your post to be in for a chance to win a prize.
  • Entries open on Monday 19 April and close on Monday 14 June.

Just want to say a big thank you to all those involved in Open Studios and for those that visited the last two weekends

Happy Easter

Well the sunshine is trying to come out, is it shinning where you are?

Spring always mean a time to sort out, a bit of a spring clean. I found out some of my early pieces of Bobbin Lace, which are Easter theme.

This little rabbit was one of my first pieces, so that was longtime ago.

Hope you all have a lovely Easter Weekend whatever you can get up to.

2021 – Challenge is at a end

Throughout January I’ve have been taking part in a Instagram challenge set by Jane Fuller of “Bobbin & Wire”.

It had prompt for each day some easily connected to lace and lace making and some making you think out of the box.  Have a look on Instagram (link to my page) for #lacechallenge_2021 – but also the other fantastic lace makers from around the world that have contributed over the month.
