This coming weekend I will at Winterfest- Arts and Craft Fair at Thorsby Courtyard, this event last year was a fabulous event for all the family with Grotto and Christmas Music.

There are some great stalls to visit including Focus Gallery, Beeston Brownies and I’ll be there with my Bobbin Lace items

Last week I spent 4 Days and one evening in the beautiful setting of Haddon Hall. There was so many beautiful artisan that you could visit everyday and see something new. These are couple of the photos I took, but don’t do it justice

The colours are changing outside and the nights are getting longer. How many of you love this time of year? I know I do!

After the long hot summer, the changes in weather have been nice. Although last night a bit windy.

New workshops and shows dates being added to the calendar

Well we are into the 8th month of the year and it’s a year since a I put my notice in at work (corporate job). What a year it has been.

So this August I just decided to take part in great Artisan Fair in Nottingham this Sunday.

I will have selection of Bobbin Lace Jewellery and Housewares, in addition some block printed scarves.

This morning I decided to use the same stamps sets to produce two really difference looks;

Visible image – Birthday versus and flower

Birthday Card:

On this can I used Brusho on Canvas paper and spray with water; I just love how the colours blend and bleed together.

Then I stamped with Memento Black ink, with the visible image stamp using the flower and the beautiful versus.

Then I stamp with verso mark ink  and  used silver embossing powder.

Pencil Case:

Using a plain fabric pencil case, I used some fabric paints and stamped with the large indigo blu butterfly, and gave the back a wash also with fabric paint.

Then with a selection of stencils from ‘stamps away’ & ‘Prima’ I used dye based inks to build up layers, followed by stamping with the flower from the visible image set.

To add detail to the tag I stamped on to ‘Shrink plastic’ with the visible image stamp and heated it, making sure that I punch out a good size whole to allow me to add it to the zip pull.

Workshops
All workshops are a great opportunity to have an introduction to the traditional craft of Bobbin Lace, with all materials and equipment provided. So a great chance to try this traditional craft with a new modern twist, without the any extra expense.

Bobbin lace is a traditional craft, which uses threads attached to bobbins and worked over a design on a pillow. To create a decorative textile items.

This is second try at mixing artist styles – so being inspired by rusty/industrial from Andy I used some shrink plastic, die cut out gears and embossed them. Then using the metallic lustre on the raised elements before heating and shrink them to use as findings on the necklace.

Then being inspired by Tracey’s use of colour and flowers I decorated the domino and canvas paper with flower stamps and coloured them. Finishing them of with Liquid Glass
